About Krung Counsel
A practice built on patience, not pressure
We opened Krung Counsel because we believed Bangkok families deserved legal support that felt human — not transactional.
Back to homeOur story
How Krung Counsel began
Krung Counsel opened its doors in Chatuchak in 2017. The founding partners had spent a combined sixteen years in commercial and family law practices across Bangkok and noticed the same pattern — clients arriving at family lawyers already stressed, already feeling like a number in a file.
The decision to start something different came from a simple observation: a family going through a difficult time needs a practitioner who slows down first, not one who immediately maps the quickest path to a fee. We built our practice around that idea.
Today Krung Counsel handles family situation reviews, mediation support, and full representation for families across Bangkok and the surrounding provinces. All our work is in English and Thai, and we work with international families as well as Thai nationals.
Our mission
What we stand for
Clarity over complexity
Thai family law has real complexity, but we believe our job is to translate that into plain terms. No unnecessary jargon, no deliberately mystifying language.
Balance, not escalation
We never encourage conflict when agreement is possible. Mediation and calm negotiation nearly always produce better long-term outcomes for all members of a family, especially children.
Discretion as standard
We treat confidentiality not as a legal obligation but as a basic sign of respect for the people we work with. Your situation is yours to share or not.

How we work
Our professional standards
Every client matter at Krung Counsel follows the same careful process, regardless of its size or complexity.
Thai Bar Association membership
All practising lawyers at Krung Counsel are fully licensed members of the Lawyers Council of Thailand and bound by its professional code of conduct.
Strict file confidentiality
Client files are stored on encrypted, access-controlled systems. Paper documents are held in locked storage and destroyed securely when no longer required.
Regular client communication
We set a communication schedule with every client at the outset. You will always know where things stand and who to contact if you have a question.
Independent case review
Every substantive piece of legal work is reviewed by a second qualified practitioner before it leaves our office. This applies to drafted agreements, submissions, and formal correspondence.
Child wellbeing framework
Where children are involved, we follow a structured framework that prioritises their wellbeing above all else. This shapes every piece of advice we give in custody and access matters.
Ongoing professional development
Our practitioners attend Thai Bar Association updates and family law seminars each year to remain current with changes in legislation and court practice.
Family legal support in Bangkok — handled with care
Bangkok is home to a wide range of family circumstances — Thai families, international families, mixed-nationality couples, and arrangements that cross multiple legal systems. Krung Counsel has been working across all of these situations since 2017, quietly and carefully.
Our office in Chatuchak is easy to reach from most parts of the city, and we also hold initial consultations by video call for clients who find it more comfortable to speak from home. All documents can be prepared in both Thai and English, and we work regularly with notaries and translation services when documentation needs to be formalised for use abroad.
Family law in Thailand covers marriage registration and dissolution, child custody and parental access, property separation, and spousal maintenance. The processes involved differ depending on whether the matter is contested or agreed, and on the nationalities and residency status of the parties involved. We take the time to understand your specific circumstances before explaining which path is most appropriate for your family.
